3rd edition of “Urban Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition”

The University of Zaragoza is a current Alliance of Guangzhou International Sister-City Universities (GISU) University member who organized this initiative.

This third edition of "Urban Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition" will be hosted by the University of Padua with the main goal is to promote sustainable urban development with scientific and technological innovation. Based upon this theme, various types of innovation and entrepreneurship-related projects are welcome.

Participants must be full-time students or graduates within 5 years of graduation (i.e. graduated after 2017), including both undergraduate and postgraduate, master and doctoral students.
 
Only teams of at least two members can present a project.

Teams are divided into:

·       CONCEPT TEAMS: Members of the team have not funded a company but have a business idea or project.

·       START-UP TEAMS: Members have launched a start-up company. The company must not have been established before 2019.

Stages of competition:
1. IN-SCHOOL PRELIMINARY COMPETITION, concluded by 25th April 2022. Names of TEAMS to be communicated by 10th May 2022.
2. ONLINE SEMI-FINAL COMPETITION held June 2022
3. FINAL COMPETITION, held virtually and in presence, in November 2022, date to be confirmed.
 
The competition stages and selection methods of the in-school preliminary round are determined by each GISU member university. Each member university is responsible to ideally select no less than five participating teams to enter the online semi-final competition. 

To participate in the competition, the following documents are required: 

  • project presentation video;
  • powerpoint presentation;
  • business plan;
  • project summary (to be used on the webpage and socials of the University of Padua to promote the event).
